Oh Wales-it seems so long back now that we were there however it was actually only a week ago! Luckily, I treated myself to yet one more notebook (I have a genuine as well as quite consuming obsession with notebooks-and stationery in general)! however this was a necessity- as well as indicated I might scribble down notes during our rich week away making it much easier to show back as well as compose this post.
Yes, I understand I’m actually justifying my millionth notepad however I like putting pen to paper as well as can’t function without somewhere to keep notes or jot down motivation when it strikes.
..It had been 4 years considering that I’d last checked out terrific Wales-my hubby was in Anglesey last year after the Passportgate debacle with Oliver (we found his passport had just expired the night before we were because of fly)- so it was quite wonderful to return this time around as well as retrace the boys’ steps however together, as a family.
And let me tell you, it did not disappoint.
We had a totally picture-perfect idyllic week in North Wales, just 2 1/2 hours away from home, a sunny window of a week where we might all switch off as well as zone out.
It was just what we needed too: special, uninterrupted household time together-sunny days full of blue skies as well as nothing however tranquil days to while away collecting shells as well as drinking lattes by the sea.
Lush.
Beaumaris beach absolutely caught our hearts. My very first time there, however the location Oliver as well as Peter spent a lot of of their week last year, we couldn’t keep away no matter exactly how far we travelled or explored.
This new family’s delighted location saw us crab catching (we threw them back after), enjoying walks on the pebbled beach before ice creams on the pier as the sun went down.
The town of Beaumaris is a overall appeal too.
I adored the pastel painted homes (an instagrammer’s dream) as well as the eclectic indie shops which lined the streets. excellent as well as so pretty, with the wonderful sun, I felt I was far away in the South of France.
The perfect backdrop for an unscripted shoot.
Scarf Louis Vuitton, Coat, Topshop, shades Chanel, Wellies, Hunter.
Also the best location for ice-cream enthusiasts too.
If you pop to Beaumaris, pledge me you’ll race over to the Red boat for the very best ice cream in town (Peter even dined on soup as well as homemade bread there as well as stated it was top notch) too!
I was really shocked that a woman who worked there who is likewise a fellow blog writer recognised me. I always discover it unusual as well as rather special when I’m recognised since of this blog here, particularly when it occurs outside of London, where my greatest audience is based.
Anyway, while there, this Greek Yorkshire lass selected a healthy Greek yoghurt scoop with fresh strawberries (and a few licks of the moorish chocolate flavour my hubby opted for!
A much-loved for locals too, I liked that they had colouring in stations to keep youngsters busy, proudly pinning bit customer’s work up on the wall.
Not far from there, by Beaumaris Castle lies a wonderful park the kids (and Mama) liked to play in. With the regional youngsters back at institution (with different term times to us), my kids had complimentary regime of the park a lot of days, much to their delight.
When we weren’t chilling as well as playing in Beaumaris, we were out driving around, finding the unmissable sights of North Wales.
South Stacks stands out as a captivating day-it might nevertheless verify a concern with bit ones on the loose. I held onto Xander the whole time as the cliff decrease is shockingly high without any security barriers to secure children.
Please make the trip keeping that in mind. We walked down to the cliff edge (there are stairs as well as the descent is safe) however I do believe it’s much better fit to adults as well as older children.
A total appeal to behold when you get there as well as it reminded me of Sea point in South Africa, such is the view. Achingly beautiful.
Another day saw us make the drive to the odd as well as wonderful Portmeirion my agent had suggested we visit.
A tourist village in Gwynedd, North Wales, it was created as well as developed by Sir Clough Williams Ellis over a 50 year time span (!) between 1925 as well as 1975 in the style of an Italian village. It’s now had by a charitable trust.
I was born in 1980 so missed this show, however you may recognise it as ‘the village’ from the 60s television show The Prisoner.
It absolutely reminded me of a sensational film set as well as it makes sense great deals of weddings are held there.
The day we checked out was overcast however when the sun is out, you might be in Italy, not North Wales.
While the buildings might make with a bit tlc, the views were wonderful as well as it was well worth the visit.
The youngsters had so much fun playing in the fixed boat there-cue the cutest ‘I’m the captain’ photos before you.
I need to note that the food was impressive in the restaurant there too- as well as I only desire I hadn’t been in such a hurry to return back to the hotel- as that evening saw my household as well as I judge Ch 4’s as well lots of Cooks on TV. humorous fun however I would have liked one more hour at Portmeirion!
I really failed to remember the food shot (#badblogger) however here’s a fashion one of me looking pensive in a sensational red coat c/o of Jacques Vert, shades c/o Chanel as well as back pack gotten that morning from new Look.
Backpacks are all popular daarlings, don’t you know?!
Wellies are navy Hunters which I resided in for the trip.
The a lot of touching part of the whole holiday was experiencing the kids bonding, indeed they still fought ( a lot) however their connection genuinely established in Wales as well as they shared lots of a tender moment from valuable cuddles to holding hands as well as even snuggling in bed together at night.
Aw
I liked seeing them quick asleep in a hotel double bed together, there is nothing sweeter than two babes cuddling in their slumber.
Talking of sleep, I took pleasure in a great deal of disco naps myself-daytime drives with the countryside made me decrease off (it was all that sea air) as well as it was so restorative to snooze on those journeys as well as get up in the most stunning of surroundings.
I requirement to online by the sea as well as am putting that desire available to the universe. Sea life make me happy.
Nothing beats collecting shells with my kids as well as breathing in that soul-replenishing salty sea air.
I always believed a step to LA for sunny days was in our plans someday however now I’m believing North Wales is the method to go!
Aw, beach time is the very best time!
Under the pier I told Oliver all about a bit show called Baywatch as I pretending to do the Pammy run (in a coat as well as wellies I may add). He wasn’t as well impressed!
Don’t blame him, there were sandcastles to be developed as well as mum was doing silly impressions of lifeguards running down the beach!
For a quick city fix, I chosen up some swimwears (I’d forgotten to pack) as well as a few tea gowns in Llandudno with even a area of pamper time in Debenhams where I treated myself to a French mani as well as eyebrow thread as well as dye (simultaneously too).
I had a pedicure one more day at the dazzling polished in Bangor too. A stylish monochrome salon, my tootsies have never looked prettier- as well as if I’d had my method I would have spent the day there!
My wonderful Xander sat on my knee throughout the treatment, stroking my arm. Such a darling Mummy’s Boy!
Now with swimwear in hand we might swim at the hotel we stayed at towards the end of the holiday as well as left Wales wet-headed, kicked back as well as absolutely rejuvenated.
What a happy, delighted time we had.
Thank you Wales, we will be back!
