This is a round up of things I’m ecstatic about or have spent my own money on this month:
In a couple of weeks, I’m going to the ABC kids Expo in Las vegas with our buddy Karen. Karen is pregnant and I hope she can summon the energy required to traverse several football fields-worth of baby gear and merchandise.
I’ve got appointments to see this wicked cool breast milk storage system, the newest Bumbleride strollers, and more.
We’ll also have a chance to hang out with some of our online baby industry buddies like Amy from pregnant Chicken, Meg from Lucie’s List, and Natalie from BabyLi.st. lots of improper things will be said.
Don’t miss pregnant Chicken’s third Trimester Bingo.
Are you pregnant? When I was, I liked having a stomach band that (sort of) covered the gap between my tee shirt and pants at the end, and then held up my maternity pants afterward when my stomach began to deflate. I think there were only a few colors to choose from, so when I saw this floral one on GroopDealz, I got a little excited.
Not your style? That’s okay. I’m not offended. They have plain ones too, for $7.99.
In other news, my husband just added these helpful phone mounts to our cars. now each of our phones has a flat, magnetic sticker on the back, and each car has a spot to slap the phone on when we’re driving. This makes me happier than you would think, maybe because my previous option was a larger contraption that stuck out of the CD drive, because who uses CDs anymore?
It’s time to think about Halloween costumes for our babies and kiddos. While I adore creative homemade costumes, I get that we all have to pick our battles. I’ll continue to share easy homemade ideas and great deals on store-bought costumes over the next couple weeks. (My daughter says, “Store-bought all the way! I hate homemade costumes!” Stab me in the heart.)
I mean, how cute is this basic train conductor costume, centered around this etsy seller’s custom-made hat?

Other thing I keep pinning and not doing:Â Fairy Doors. I’ve seen enough little fairy doors that range in style from something you might get nearly made at Michael’s or Jo-Anns, to a a lot more diy option out of popsicle sticks or twigs. I think it would be fun to install one on the tree in front of our house so that we can see out our street-facing window when people stop to look at it.
Here’s one you can get on etsy.
and here’s a a lot more rustic version, handmade, found on the forums at Craftster.org.
I hope Scarlett will choose the homemade version, not store BOUGHT, MOM! wish me luck.
